1) We’ve been in business over 40 years and nationally accredited for 30 years. Accreditation means we go beyond State Board requirements and meet the highest standards in the industry. We know the school business. We are organized, friendly, professional, experienced and have successfully trained and graduated hundreds of students.
2) Product and technique variety! There’s absolutely no benefit in training with one product like Redken, Paul Mitchell or Aveda. Don’t be “brainwashed” into thinking this gives you a better education. In fact, if you look in the phone book under Beauty Salons you probably won’t find any salons that use just one product.
3) Also, when you attend a “one product” school, they usually force you to sell a quota of their retail products every month. (Ask them) Is this education?
4) At Newport School of Hairdressing we’re not controlled by any product company therefore we don’t put any ridiculous quotas on students to sell products.
5) We make learning fun. Our students are happy they choose Newport School of Hairdressing. Theory classes are kept to a minimum so more time can be devoted to hands-on training in a high end salon like setting.
Our knowledgeable, dedicated and professional staff strives everyday to give you the competitive edge. They share with you their real world experiences and insights they have learned from their own successful careers.
To be the best... you must train with the best.
For over 40 years Newport School of Hairdressing has placed hundreds of its highly trained graduates from Rhode Island and Massachusetts in the Salon & Spa Industry. Our graduates work at our own many of he top salons in the surrounding areas. Remember - NOBODY DOES IT BETTER!

Our Training Makes a Difference
Newport School of Hairdressing is a “Nationally Accredited” beauty school. This means the school has been examined by a team of outside experts and meets the highest standards.
Extensive Hands-On training. Our school and combined services over many clients every week! It’s this kind of practice that gives Newport School of Hairdressing students the competitive edge and sets apart from your typical beauty school.
We don’t associate ourselves with one product line (like Redken, Paul Mitchell, Aveda, or Toni & Guy). We train our students to use many of the top beauty products. Salons don’t like the “One Size Fits All” teaching method. The beauty industry is full of wonderful “lotions & potions.”
Professional representatives continuously visit our schools to give students advanced training.
We have Lifetime Placement Service.
Our tuition is affordable and includes your books and equipment. We are independently owned so we don’t have to pay franchise fees to a product company!
